Did a car wash yesterday. The front rims were much dirtier than rear ones.
That happens to other cars, both rear and front wheel drive. Anybody has
a good explanation? Thanks.

Most of the work stopping the car is done by the front wheels.

Which is also why the front brakes are always larger than the rears -- the car's weight, although 50/50 standing still on most BMWs, shifts forward when stopping so the front brakes need to work harder...

It's because the car is rear wheel drive, it spins all of the brake dust off the rears, hahaha

I wish that really was the case, then I won't have to clean those damn alloys all the time.

Because when the brake dust gnomes visit your car at night?they tend to sprinkle more brake dust on the front wheels vs. the rear?either that or the front brakes do more of the ?stopping? vs. the rear

I always feel a sense that I have been driving well when I get out of my car and see my front wheels are black
