Best way to keep the brake dust from sticking is to use dishwashing liquid when you give your rims a wash. After 3 - 4 washes, you'll realise they don't stick as much anymore. I think the dishwashing liquid gets rid of whatever wax, oil and anything sticky from the rims, keeping them smooth which is what repels dust.

A word of caution; the aerosol tyre blackening spray always spreads to the rims making them prone to brake dust collecting there. I never allow the detailers to use them.

The only way I know of keeping rims dust free is not to use the brakes at all

I may be wrong, but I don't believe BMW had anything to do with designing the 2006 range Rover. This is a Ford project.

I guess you've never owned a Mercedes, have you? If you think BMW's brake dust is bad...

I've had this 2006 Range Rover for a week now and the wheels still shine. No brake dust. And this thing has good brakes and it has to haul down 5400 pounds. What's the deal? BMW designed this thing from the ground up. Brakes included. Why no dust?

Rejex.

When the wheels are totally clean, apply Rejex. It will act as a semi-permanent wheel wax, and brake dust for the most part literally washes away with a squirt from the hose - not much of it sticks to begin with, and that which does washes away quite easily.

The MkIII designated Range Rover (2003-current) was designed ground-up by BMW.

There have been some changes, mostly for the better, since the sale to Ford, most notably the switch from the BMW V8 to the higher-powered Jaguar aluminum V8, but the next redesign, the first by Ford, is not due until 2009 or 2010.

Is Rejex sold in Auto Parts stores or do you have to order it? Seems like I remember that it had to be ordered.

I bought it at:

I've been using RejeX for a few years--on wheels, exhaust tips and windshield--great stuff.
