I love my E60 in all aspects. Absolutley adore it, except the rf tires and some electronic issues (minor stuff).
Talking about the design i love the e60 design...and bealive it or not i also love the e90 design...i got used to it and now i love it.
I also love the E39 design...looks up to date and cool even now.

I have to admit that it took me some time to start liking the E60. Maybe for the fact that I owned a E39 when the new model came out and became a little jealous.

I had to wait two years for making the decision and during this time the E60 really grew on me each day.

Today I simply love the car's design and wouldn't trade it for nothing else!

all I can do is just agree with you BANGLE's E60 RULEZZZZ!

Agreed; i loved the E60 as soon as it came out, with M-Sport kit even more so.

Other manufacturers are now copying Bangle; see new S-Class, new Lexus, and numerous others. Flattery of the highest order.

Even the new Toyotas (Avalon/Camry) seem to have have taken their cues from the design, at least the rear stop lights. Darn

The new Lexus LS 460 looks like a bangle design when I look at it from a rear angle view http://www.clublexus.com/index.php/article...view/7494/1/10/ .

Yer right Vern; I bought it off eBay, sight unseen, trusting my 30 years of BMW ownership. I've learned my lesson. This too shall pass.

I had a 1994 Legend LS Coupe. My little brother had one at the same time, too.
Mine was white, his was red.

It was an amazing looking car. I loved it.

Actually the E60 Exterior was designed by Davide Arcangeli.

He has unfortunately passed away, thus the facelift was by another designer.

For those interested these are some of the exterior designers for different models

E39 : Joji Nagashima ( 5 Series )
E90 : Joji Nagashima ( 3 Series )

E65 : Adrian van Hooydonk ( 7 Series )
E63 : Adrian van Hooydonk ( 6 Series )

E87: Chris Chapman ( 1 Series )

Amazingly, that E39 and E90 were designed by Japanese-German/American(?) - Good taste. And Toyota design is a bad taste

I must admit when I first saw the E60 I didnt like it, however it grew on me. The E-Class has fallen from grace mainly through reliability problems not for its design, although its not cutting edge like the E60. Bangle was not the only cutting edge design leader Renault also has a design leader that brought out designs that at the time were deemed radical and now are "normal".

Some of the BMW designs were not that great, the X3 has fussy details especially around the lights at the rear that dont flow, the Z4 is overworked and in time will not be seen as a masterpiece of BMW design. The new 3 - series was deliberately toned down by comparison as they were not going to ruin their biggest seller.

I don't think CB gets enough credit.

He has been conservative when he needed to be - he was head of BMW design when the E39 5 series and the E46 3 series were penned. So he can't be the crazy man others make him out to be as these classics were his.

His recent leadership has certainly pushed the design envelope - and now other manufacturers are following, as others have pointed out here.

And now the E60 is the best selling 5 series ever (in the US), while the E65 7 series has sold more than its predecessor (E38) - even though it faced much better competition.

And what about the Mini? Talk about hitting the mark.

I think the evidence shows that he has been remarkably capable at bringing to market the right car at the right time.

Read a recent speech by CB here.
