If not too far out of your way, take it to East Bay BMW in Pleasanton. Center of Excellence three years running and they're striving to maintain that reputation. They have experience with both BT and Aux-In, charging 1 hour labor each, assuming you need software only on the BT (and need a S/W update anyway, e.g. the optional emissions recall). Ask for Rich over there, as he is the BT specialist.

This is actually my wife's car. Pleasanton is about an hour from us, with the baby, drop off, pick up, etc all this would take four hours of driving.

Do you know if they can do this BT upgrade while we wait?

That could work. I have to go to Pleasanton every three months or so and could swing by.

if you don't mind to wait a few hours for programming, of course you can wait. but sometimes it'll take the whole day. it's better off to get a loaner or shuttle service .
