Where is the SMG relay on an 06 E60 550?

I have a 2006 E60 550 with SMG and would like to replace the SMG relay as the first step in troubleshooting my 'Transmission in Failsafe Mode' issue, but can only find M5 information regarding this relay. The SMG relay on the 550 is not in the same place. I have looked under the cabin filter on the passenger's side and there are only 2 relays there - the ABS and Windshield Wiper relays.

Thanks!

Additional detail - Description of my problem:

2 weeks ago, my car went into 'Transmission Failsafe Mode' while driving, and restricted my available gears to R N 1 2 3. I drove home immediately and parked the car for about 15 minutes. I got back in to take the car to my local indy shop and the transmission shifted fine - all gears available.

At the shop, they looked at the car and could not find any issues, although they did see and clear a code. They tested the car and said it was most likely a fluke. I continued driving the car as normal.

Yesterday, I was stopped at a traffic light and tried to accelerate when the traffic light turned green - nothing but revs. The transmission was in Neutral and would not go into gear. I shut the car off and back on, still no luck (angry traffic piling up behind me). I was able to roll downhill and onto a quiet side street where I waited for about 10 minutes. After starting the car again, the transmission shifted fine and I was able to get home.

I would now like to replace the SMG relay in the first step in troubleshooting, but would love to know where it is!

Ohh no that's not a good sign..
That exact thing happened to my 2007 550i SMG a couple of months ago.. only to find out the hydraulic unit had a leak inside and every time i would drive the car for a couple of minutes the unit would get over heated and the transmission failsafe mode would go on. The repair bill was about 6k .. Hopefully you have a different minor problem, and good luck because that was sure a hassle to deal with!
