I had a metal clunk or noise and they said it had something to do with the sensor rubbing up against something/ rotors. maybe this is the case maybe not.

depending on the nature of the "clunk" in question, it could also be those damd tension struts (#8 in the diagram)

i was getting a metallic clunk and it was diagnosed as worn prop shaft bushes

Me too! And I have a relatively new BMW. An 08 535 to be exact. Have taken it to the dealer and all I get is "cannot duplicate". It is intermittent in nature. Can't seems to reproduce at will - is seemingly random. Not so much a bother but for a 61K automobile it is rather distracting!
