My former mid-2004 530i never had any problems beyond (a) a jammed cupholder, easily fixed and (b) one nasty iDrive crash, which fixed itself after a break. The (Bridgestone) RFT's lasted for over 20,000 miles, half of them driven pretty hard - loved throwing that car around!

I probably wouldn't complain about tire and brakes if this was a track car and I had replaced the tires twice within 7,000 miles. However, this is a "sports sedan" that shouldn't eat tires like this. The first set of replacements were Goodyear runflats and I've since found out that they wear like crap from research and first hand experience. The current set are Pirelli non runflats, hopefully I'll have better luck.

My major problems where really just due to CIP s/w upgrades and the on-going door seals, but other than that, I have been very pleased.
Like a previous response said, everything you are describing should be fixable. However, having the active steering replaced 3 times does not sound right.
I would get the BMW field service rep involved so that your problems are either fixed once and for all, or something is done to replace the vehicle.

They already replaced my brake sensors, but it still squeels like crazy. Tech explained that it's the pads, he said that they get a ton of complaints about the pads. He offered to replace them, but said I would only be happy for about 3 weeks.

FWIW - people have reported success in curing squealing E60 brakes by chamfering the pads' edges a little. Don't know if you are DIY-minded, but it may be worth a try.

BM is better than Merks in eletronics less bugs. I will never get a merk in HK because the tech people are not German anymore they are from china now.
BUT I have a new problem now after I installed the sway bars. the cars is stiffer but now I get some skeek in the doors because of the swaybars but I will sick with it because I love the feel of the car now.

Had TCU Unit,(SOS), problems and a set of new tires at 15,000 miles The car is great. Good luck
