Ok fellows...

I?m concidering upgrading my winter tires and wheels from OEM 16" to aftermarket 17".
I?m quite sure what kind of wheels I would like to have: Dezent K 8x17 ET18

Only "but" thing with this wheel is that I?m forced to use hubcentric rings with it. 74,1mm -> 72,5mm.

The other (almost same looking) model is BBS?s wheel.

It?s hub is for e60 (72,5mm). 8x17 ET 20.

The question is which one should I go for? Do you see the using of hubcentric ring would be a problem anyhow? Both wheels are German as we know

The tire will be either Nokian Hakkapeliitta 5 or Michelin X-Ice North. 225/50 R17 is the size.

Dear Anzafin,

If the wheels aren't perfect, your E60 will not be either.

You need to have High Quality rims with perfect hub fittings!

I also recommend correct offsets (7,5x17 ET20).

Do not spoil your E60 with bad rims!

Up north in Finland Nokian Hakkapeliitta 5's with studs can't be wrong.

I am starting to shop for winter wheels, also. I think correct fit is very important. Don't spend a lot of $$$ for rims that will be damaged cosmetically by sand and salt.

I'm thinking of getting Borbet H for my winter wheel. The design looks like less snow will get caught in the wheel compared to other wheels with more spokes / wider spokes. This is the wheel recommended by tirerack. What do you guys think?

I'm also in the market for a winter setup. Don't likes these too much.

Thank you everybody, I appreciate your input!

I chose the BBS as you advised and they're ordered now...

And what comes up about sand, salt and other things, I have had alloys for winter tires for years in my previous car (Toyota Avensis) and I never noticed any defects on them caused by winter use. They don't use much salt and sand here where I live. Streets in the town are usually sanded, that's true, but roads are usually clear. Only snow on them.
But yeah, I would not like to spend lots of €€€ for winter wheels. I rather put those €€€ for good winter tires

Great choice.

+1 on the BBS rims. I had BBS on my last 3 series and never had an issue.

I don't like adding rings either.
