Newb question here, but wheel offsets have my head ready to explode. I have an 07 550 with 124 style wheels. After renaming my car the ?death sled? after the past winter with all the snow we had, I want to get another set of wheels to put some snows on for this winter. What I am trying to figure out is since next summer I plan on trading my 550 for a 535xi, is there any style of oem wheel I can get now that I will also be able to use on an xi when I get it? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide

nope - the wheels you get now on the 550 will have a lower offset then the wheels you will need on the xi model. This means the wheels for the 550 will stick out too much on the 535...

welcome. as rysed said above, the wheels for the xi have a specific offset that will work and is not compatible with wheels for the non xi models. for xi wheels, try shooting a pm to members c'sbimmer and drlev99. both of them have/had the xi model and have both gone with csl style wheels. enjoy the forums.

Your question has been answered but i'll chime in.

The offset on the 535xi is going to be et43 all around but if you get the sports package and order the wheels , which are $600 xtra, they come staggered. The front wheels are et43 and rear are et55 which is a very big difference from what you have now. Another problem you will have is that we xi owners are very limited to what wheels we can purchase for our car. Once you do get a set of wheels that you would want to use BMW does not recommend changing the runflats more that 2 to 3 times because of the sidewalls. So you will have to get a winter setup with it's own tires and sensors. Welcome to my world.. I've searched everywhere and the 3 locations where you may find something is Velocity motoring, Newport BMW-Gary- gives us forum members 25% off oem wheels or Tirerack.com.

Good luck hope that helps allot.

Rick..

ps. I'm currently looking at the O.Z. Superleggera III but they are very expensive at tirerack.
