This is going to sound lame, but please be gentle..
I need some advice about wheels. I am reasing all kinds of things about staggered setups and offsets etc. I have pretty much decided which wheels I want to go with, now I just need some advice on :
Staggered setup or non staggered
Tire Size
What offsets?
I have a 2004 525i. Premium package, no sport. I dont want an extreme setup just based on looks, ride should be smooth as well.
I have decided to go with the Miro 346 .. BMW #167 replicas (I would like to buy OEM's but I cant afford it right now and tires need a changing)

Your help is greatly appreciated.

On the Miro's, the offsets on the front should be around ET15. The Rears should be around ET20.....assuming you go with the staggered setup and 8.5" and 9.5" front to back. Front tire is the usual 245/35/19 and the rear is 275/30/19....assuming you get 19's, which are a must.
And make sure they send you centering rings with the wheels. They are not hub-centric.

Simple. Your car is like mine, and pretty much all other E60's except the M5 which has slightly larger fenders.
Having said that, you will have to get the following tires if you're getting 19" rims:
245 / 35 / 19 for the front
275 / 30 / 19 for the rear
If you're getting 20" rims, make sure you live in a state with damn near perfect roads.
Why is it important to keep tire size correct? Your speedometer will be off if you don't.

I appreciate both the responses. I was actually thinking about 18" wheels since they will be a huge improvement on my 18" ones but at least ill have some tire for comfort. Dont want the tire to be too thin, otherwise ill get road noise and the wife will complain that i spent mony on the ride to make it bumpier.
Thanks for all the help.

Get 19" instead of 18". Trust me, you'll thank me later!

The ride won't be a lot different than from an 18" to a 19". The tires make a difference too. As an example, my 19" summer wheels and tires ride much softer than my 18" winter Dunlop 3D's. If you have potholes and lots of uneven pavement to deal with, I still wouldn't worry about the 19's.....lots of us northern folks have bad roads and have had no problems, myself included.
Please update your location so we have a better idea where you reside.

My Ride: E60
Model Year: 2006
Hello! I'm in thesame situation coming from 18 size with rft tires and thinking of going to size 19. The rft tires are so noisy and bumpy. Is the ride going to be smoother and quieter if I go with 19 size staggered with nonrft tires? Also going from oem wheels to after market wheels, whats the set back. Pls. advice. Thanks . My car is 2006 530i with sport.
