I'm going to be completely different, and say that my favourite "gadget" is the remote boot (trunk) opening button on the key. Walking back towards the car with shopping, I can pop the trunk from several yards away, and it swings up and open. Superb feature, and I am really going to miss it - for some reason it's not implemented on the E92. You can unlock the trunk, but it doesn't pop up - you have to get your hands dirty opening it yourself. ;-(

I think I have 2, first is
Dynamic drive, it really works and makes this car handle like something half it's size.
Second is
Heated Steering Wheel, it's probably was the least essential thing on my car when I ordered but I seem to have it on all the time, it's just great

My Ride: 2006 BMW 550i "Ben Hogan's 5 Iron"
SilverGrey/Black Sport, L7, NAV, CW, AS, Split FR
2003 Audi A4 3.0 CVT "Part of the Moniker"
Silver/Ebony, Prem, CW, Star 17s
Someone said the throttle. Thats the best feature along with the great handling.
My favorite option? Tough one but I have a clear choice. Its anti-roll without question, as part of the sport package. Just awesome.
Other favorites include: active steering, logic 7 and the heated steering wheel is really cool. This my first NAV and I really like it. The voice activation is okay and its become more useful.
I spec'd the E60 spot on, and thus enjoy/use every selected option without any regrets. That said, comfort access would be nice but I refused to give BMW $1k for it. Damn it. I thought about HUD but its okay without it.

I guess I'm going to have to go test drive a car with Active Steering....It must be worthwhile with so many members raving about it.
For me the bluetooth phone function is phenominal. I don't know of any other car where you can just get in and your phone automatically transfers your numbers to the car's hands free system!
Next, comfort access...costly but I like it!
