Actually, '06 Models will be out early, starting with March '05 production.
For the 5 Series & the 3 Series, anyway....

[/quote]I couldn't agree with you more. Its a B.S. American thing.
My understanding is that in Europe, they don't pull this crap. As soon as January 1st comes along, you have purchased a 2005 model. Its that simple. I love our country, but screwing around with model years is just completely out of line.
Incidentally, the 5er and the new 3 get the new engines starting with March production, and we already know that the 3 will be a 2006 model. There was a memo on Centernet which specifically stated that both Series would get the new R6 engines.

we've been talking about this for quite a while now , and you must always research for AT LEAST a year prior to ordering any new car
the new E90 3er is a MY06, and it will be available in spring
and as for the E60's, dealers are even acknowledging that the April builds will have the R6 as well as the Xi options, i dont know whether they bump up the MY to 06 or not...

NOT so.?? The Manufacturers close their production lines for retooling and the usual summer break in August.?? Then start them up for the new model year in September.? Its been like this for many years.? Just like the school year.? German and Italian plants all operate this way.?? Ever seen an August production car?
