i know 05 530i has 255 hp and 04 has 225.
but I was just wondering being mine was built
october 2004 and sold as an 05.and when I tried to get reflash there unable to do it cus mine had
a build date of 10/04.and they can only do 05 and up.
I know the only way is to get dynoed but is there another way?

I could swear the 530 '04 and '05 MY was 225HP, with the M54B30 engine. In '06 it was upgraded to 255hp. (got beaten to it!)

nevermind i answer my own question.i wish i did more research i would have gotten 06 and up.
i hate vehix.com for giving me wrong info.
this is what i pulled up from edmunds.
Past 5 Series Models
For 2004 and 2005, the current 5 Series was offered only in sedan form and only with rear-wheel drive. There were two six-cylinder models, the 184-horsepower 525i and 225-hp 530i, along with a top-line V8 version, the 325-hp 545i. Buyers looking at six-cylinder models would be wise to focus on 2006 and newer models, as the '06 model year brought a new pair of 3.0-liter sixes, resulting in a more spirited 215-hp 525i and a 255-hp 530i. The V8 sedan was already quick, but it, too, received a new engine, a 360-hp 4.8-liter, and became the 550i.
