I think I might want to look at a newer car but I love my 545i. Just need to know what my BMW will tell me for trade in. I've looked at KBB and it appears $22-25k is about right but that seems a little high no?

2005 BMW 545i. Black on black, 6 speed, sport pkg, cold pkg, parking sensors, NAV, Logic 7 stereo. 37K miles. Car is great, always dealers serviced. New clutch, slight scrape on PS corner (rubbed wall going into garage)...simple fix. No warranty. OEM M5 wheels and stock 18" wheels. all 4 OEM M5 wheel curbed, 4 stock wheels 8.5 out of 10.

Any idea what I might get private?

Thanks guys!

Vince

IMO, if you get that slight scrape on the ps corner fixed and maybe do a lil detail, you could get that price range selling it on your own. Good luck! Very nice ride you got there

For reference, my neighbor took a 2004 545 loaded, HUD, Logic 7, Nav, Sport Pkg, Automatic, Window shades, etc. for 14,500 on trade-in at a Chevy dealership. They are selling it for $20,000 on the lot.

That is correct, I was offered around 15.5K for a 2004 545 with 65 K miles, fully loaded (it may be less than that now), thus I am stuck with my current car - not that I am unhappy. That is the perfect reason for starting mods.

It was just out of warranty with 54,000 miles. My neighbor brought it home and let me drive it. Now my 525 feels like an ice wagon.

i took my car about 6 months ago to Carmax to see how much they'd give me for it, and also so i know the market value of it and how much leverage i have when shopping for another car.
I have an 05' 545, blk on blk, auto, hud, nav, pwr rear shade, with 80K miles back then, and they came back with a lame ass offer of $16K...i told them that they were on crack, but they explained how they arrived at that number...what they go for at auctions, wholesale value, etc..etc...kbb isn't the most accurate tool in this market.

Remember dealers rarely will pay more then the avg. current auction listings are selling for. This is a few grand less then what many think is lowest they'd ever offer you.

OP.......I'd try selling it on here or locally. Manual transmission can be hard to find and your car has all the right opitions. Brands like BMW sell pretty well privately.
