Are cops pulling you over just for not having the front license plate,
or it's like an extra "bonus" if you get a parking ticket?
Any recent updates from SoCal?
I'd really hate to install it...

It is required by state law to run your front plate in California. If law/parking enforcement are bored, they will cite you.

You might want to consider a Swift Motorsports Hide Away Plate Holder, Motorized Version

Well, I know, I was driving my S4 without it for 4 years and got ticketed once...
I'm looking for more fresh info, have you guys been pulled over lately
only because of it?

Yeah I got pulled over for no front plate 6 months ago when I first got my M-Tech kit on. Then they ticketed me for my tints while they were at it (mind you I only have 54% on the sides). They pulled me for no other reason other than because I had no front plate. No moving violations involved whatsoever.

My sister in a cop in the South Bay area and she said that they pull people over for that reason alone... Horrible huh!?

A little more basic solution is the GoMiniGo plate holder that uses the tow hook mount http://www.gominigo.com/NHLPB-BMW.html I have one on my Z4 and will be getting one for the 535 when it comes in.
