G-tech is just ok, but not very accurate.
The experience on here has been that a properly configured G-Tech or G-Timer is actually pretty accurate, with some owners validating times against those recorded on a dragstrip.

Actually wouldnt the Law abiding correct answer be the drag strip? Thats the best way to measure 0 to 60 and 1/4th.
The best answer - period.

1/4th times aren't just about the car, its also about the driver.

I tried out my 0-60 time with a stop watch earlier, and 6s flat was the best I got. Can't be right, car and driver got the 535xi 0-60 in 5.4s! Plus I have a few mods which should make it at least that, possibly 5.3s. Unless my exhaust is hurting my car! What's a good way to find out my real 0-60 and 1/4 times?
You have to remember that Car & Driver corrects it's 0-60 and 1/4 mile times for temperature, elevation, atmospheric pressure, tides of the ocean, the position/shape of the moon, and the alignment of the stars! In other words, they correct the numbers to 'standard' conditions. Your acceleration times will vary dependent on temperature, air density, asphalt conditions, tire temperature, grip, and a whole host of other things.

Yup the G-Timer is accurate enough, just compare the times with times on a dragstrip. it seriously is accurate "enough" especially for purposes of the original poster and for practicing launching a car, its good enough.

Hahah u can compensate for all that with the times off the G-Timer... have you read grogan545 and Znod's threads?

Have you read my post properly? It wasn't about the G-Timer nor the other posts. I'm only referring to Car & Drivers acceleration times and the fact they correct their 0-60 and 1/4 mile times.

Yes I did read it properly, the way you put it I read it as you're saying C&D corrects their time and you didnt mentioned anything about the G-Timer correcting its time so I made a statement saying it CAN be corrected too.
