A mile is the same both sides of the Atlantic so how many ACTUAL miles on a tankful is a useful measure. Range is not a useful measure because it varies according to unknown factors in any one tankful.
As for US/Imperial gallons and therefore MPG... the a US gallon (and MPG) is EXACTLY 4/5 (80%) of a UK gallon (and MPG).

But there's not much difference between 10 and 20% I guess.

Hmmm.. I'd hoped I'd moved on from the 10-15% and brought an exact 20% to the table.

My Ride: 2006 530i Sport
Silver Gray - Black Leather - Anthracite Maple
Manual Transmission
Premium Audio
Cold Weather Package
Rear sunshade
Sirius Radio
Autobahnd Roadblock (3M) film kit
For my normal driving - not a long trip or anything, I get in the low 400 mile range. On a recent fill up, I had gone 414 miles, and the car still had 2.2 gallons of fuel left according to how much I was able to pump into the tank. Computed mileage was over 25mpg US.

After modest 60 mph driving I get 620 (British) miles showing as my range on filling her up. What is the best you get?
Lucky you I only get 300 - 325 max, but 95% of my journeys are short hops

Been thrashing and changing gear/speed all the time as running in
Pleasently suprised - Came from a 650 mile range A4 1.9 Tdi Audi but this is MUCH more fun
Soon be run in and will be able to use sport mode - cant wait

If I have 3 days on the trot of motorway crusing I can get 500 out of it but no more than that, but still great considering what the car is capable of.

Sport mode? In your sig you mention you have an Auto box and floor mats. Do you have Dynamic Drive too?
