I don't like the fact that double pumping to open the drivers door does not unlock the other doors. By the time I go to the other side to open the door for my daughter, my key is already in my pocket. Not like I can ask her to unlock or double pump the door handle. Leaving the doors unlock is not a option either as I don't want my daughter to accidentally open the door. When I open the driver's door on my Mercedes the other doors unlock too. This feature can be programed in the Mercedes, it cannot in the BMW. Having such a nice feature like this on the Mercedes makes you want more in the BMW. You don't realize how wonderful this feature is until you have a child or have to open another door after getting out..

I got this programed away this weekend, now when I remove the key the driver side door unlocks. This can be changed though, it depends on how the car is set to unlock with the key. The easier solution to this is to just hit the unlock button on the dash.

I wonder if I can get this reprogrammed where I am. Remembering to hit the central locking would be great if all my cars were BMW, but that not always the case.

my biggest problem is i cant figure out the f'ing climate control. no matter what i have hot air blasting at my feet and cold air at my upperbody... i was driving home from work this weekend when the car was freezing so i put the temp all the way up and put it on auto, after a while i got hot and tried to turn the temp down, nope still hot air at my feet, so then i even put on the a/c thinking then only cold air would come out... nope. eventually i gave up and hit the off button and opened the damn sunroof when its 10degrees out. wtf i thought auto would make it so if i have it hot, hot air comes out, and if i have a/c on, cold air comes out. i just dont get it. anybody else have this or do i just need to mess with the idrive?

The cup holders are a joke and the climate control is just so cumbersome. Just give me a knob instead of having to take my eyes off the road to adjust the temp! I really don?t care about the intensity that the air flows out of the vents, either, I can just turn the fan up or down. I won?t even get into the reliability issues....(on this topic)

I hate the whole hvac setup. Over-engineered isn't even the word to describe it.

Even with all these annoyances, this is the best car I have owned and we are lucky to be driving this beauty. Cheers

I completely agree, however, the competition is getting more and more fierce. When simple cheap cars come with things like premium stereo, BT, iPod connectivity as standard (i.e. Kia's econobox) then there has to be more than the emblem on the hood to justify a $50k price jump. Tell me BMW what do you come with standard that the entry level cars don't? Everything is an option on a BMW and that should change

Have you recently got new tires? Have you tried going into Idrive and set the pressures? its takes a while but may help you if you haven't done that. If not may be an issue to get fixed. I've never experienced that and its been 15 degrees or less everyday this month..
