Was that quote from Fidelity for 2 years?

Lee, I went ahead and got the Platinum Coverage Extended Vehicle Protection from BMW of Dallas. It was $3,380 for 2 extra years, and 50K extra miles. It is transferrable to a new owner(if need be, which I don't foresee) for $50, or refundable from the time of cancellation - not unlike any other extended warranty. But, I get 2 more years of roadside assist., and I like that its a BMW warranty. The finance guy just took the payment over the phone, and took care of everything.

I know how you feel, though. I even looked at new cars last week. I looked at leasing a new 528i, but it was BORING! Beautiful inside, but the outside was so BLAND! He even showed me the 535 and 550, and I wasn't super-impressed. I also looked at 328i convertibles, but my friend said it was too "female mid-life crisis" for me. Bottom line, I really like the E60. It has the styling that I like, inside and out. And like the finance guy reminded me, there's still alot of life left in my car. I mean seriously, it's a 3 year old BMW - okay, 4, but no one has to know that .Take care of it, and get something to protect it from major expenses. That's just my 2 cents.

BTW, I did skip the maintenance agreement. It is NOT refundable if you get rid of your car, and $2,300 seemed crazy to me. Good luck!

It is obvious that you do not drive the car that much, so the chances of you coming into problems is pretty slim. Most likely you will not exceed $3200 in repairs over the next couple of years. I would bank the money and use it as a down payment when you chose to upgrade to a F10

If your vehicle has 11,000 miles I would say hell no don't extend it, it is still practically a brand new car. If you ever have any type of engine or transmission issues with only 11,000 miles on your vehicle then I'd say you have some really shitty luck. I'd save the $3500, any other minor repair the vehicle might incur over the next two years with such a low mileage won't be justified with that price.

Its my 2nd car and i don't drive it that much, mostly a summer car since I drive a 4x4 in the winter. It looks like that the best option is just to keep the $ and use it toward new purchase in the future. I expect that I will probably at most put on another 5k miles before selling it. At least the people that buy my car will be happy. The car's condition is almost like new, not one scratch or dent, the passenger and rear seats aren't even rubbed in.
