Some people say reliability is not the best aspect of BMW. I would not completely agree. It's not a Lexus but it also isn't a Jaguar.
My worst issue was last year in my old X5. My rear left tire( not run-flats) burst in the middle of the highway! I had to pull over and when I did, I just saw the wheel crack
. But when BMW took it, they said the disc and the suspension also suffered
. I had no idea how those 2 things also suffered. Those 3 things plus BMW Roadside Assistance got a bill so expensive that you could buy 2 Rolex watches!
Anyway, did anyone here get a worse issue?

1) Leaking gasket covers
2) 5 inches of water in the battery compartment due to a known-defect in the side vent in the trunk allowing water to enter it. This wasn't fixed until 2007 model 5 series.

Obvious; the ridiculous, narcissistic, inept, obtuse, decision to put run flat tires on these cars.

Having the "ticking sound" (do a search on it) But I got it replaced under CPO and got a new cylinder head. No complaints here!
I fear the "ticking time bomb" lurking under my hood.
Front wheel bearing fail has been my worst problem during 17k miles.
