What Software is this?-oil_level.jpgI got a 530 loaner today and was playing with the Non-nav I-drive (which starts up, oh, about 6 million times quicker than the nav equipped system), I found this screen. Any idea what software version this is? I have 16.2 on mine and do not have it....[attachment=10381:attachment]

By the new engine, I believe he means the newly desinged R6 engine (3.0 l available in the MY 06 530i's and 330i's). It is my understanding that the new 5.0 l V8 will also only have the electonic dipstick.

My R6 car has this screen. It doesn't have a dipstick.

From the manual:

"Checking oil level on 525i, 530i - Your vehicle is equipped with an electronic oil level check."

The diagram in the manual also makes a point of singling out the 545i as being the only model for which the dipstick is applicable.

Jeez - you'd think with all the cycles this forum is devoting to not having to use a key there would be more focus on not having to deal with the mess and inconvenience of checking the oil.

derrickj - care to compare/contrast the R6 to your 545i?
