Whatever you pay, the UK price for a fully loaded 545i is $99,000. You guys are real lucky.

If you want to play hard ball do a search on this thread about the Rizzo Method. I ended up shopping about 4 - 5 local dealers and none of them would budge for less than $1000 off MSRP. I went on Bimmerfest.com dealers forum and got hooked up with Adrian at Nalley BMW in Atlanta. I got a good (not great) deal but am reasonably happy.

Hey Dr2be,

I am not sure what type of respond you'll get because this question has been brought up many times before. There were no definite answer though, because it really depends on many factors such as: Time/Place/People

What other people paid is alway different that what you think it's fair. Regional demand is also different, so you can't expect to compare your prices with what other have paid.

That being said, the fair price is really dependent on what you're willing to pay. If you really want to save money, try European delivery. This will save you at least 7% of the Car cost (options are not discounted officially). The caveat is, you will have to wait 3 months, plus taking time off to go to Munich.

Keep in mind that dealer need to make money to stay in business too.

Hi,

I have my 545i enroute . I e-mailed 35 <_< dealers with the pricing info you posted here but only the ivoice price. Got about 10 responses . I clearly stated in my e-mail that I would not ask them to meet or beat another dealers price. I asked for their fair price, depending on dealer costs and what they wanted for a profit. I also told them I would accept only one quote from each dealer and asked them not to bother e-mailing me if their response was " Let me know what you get and I will give you a better deal". most were in the $2400 above invoice range. Two quotes were 1800 over invoice. But if you live near or don't mind driving to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, I have a great dealer who is a fairly large dealer who sold me a car and ordered it with my specs for an unbeliveable $1000 over invoice , I have to drive 300 miles to get it . I don't know if he will do it again. :'( , but if you are interested contact me and I will give you his number. I honored my e-mail and did not ask closer dealers to meet the price.
This dealer was very upfront and honest no beating around the bush and best of all I am paying what he wanted from me.

Your car is going to be great. But you're not getting the ventilated seats and Nasca leather option?

In short, Krptocat is do-able. Three months is a bit long - Here's why. A dealer who will do it for $1K is a dealer who has unused slots.

Also, emailing a bunch of dealers may work, but I found that dealers-ie their salesstaff felt you were getting quotes to go local and have the quote beat.

Best part of Rizzo- go to dealership with your figures - thank the salesman and say I really want to talk to the sales manager at this point-and after a very little chit chat, be up front and say here is the car, here are my figures, and I am ready to buy today. Then tell him the good news - that you will pay X over invoice - and thats all there is to it. Just keep it simple, but firm for him.

His invoice cost will more or less be like yours, but there are a few insignificant items--eg he gets some of the base back and probably pays into an advertising fund. Also, he will hit you for $300 bucks for paperwork--decide up front, if you want to pay it.

And--the dealer probably gets all sorts of rebates--I think he has to work on highter margins that what is published invoice.

Dr to be? You'll be rolling in the coins soon!

Dealers have a $2500 hold back amount to be paid by BMW based on your survey responses. Make sure you tell them that you will give them a 10 on everything to make sure they hit their hold back numbers. I got mine with your same options with SMG for $3500 below MSRP or basically $2400 over invoice on an '04 they had to bring in from FLA (dealer trade) and they paid for transportation. They were not dealing on '05's in NC. MSRP or $1000 off at the most.

I would have paid anything to drive such a machine regardless!
