Hi guys I went to 1/4 mile track last summer, when I just bought my car and did 14.4 seconds with stock wheels/tires and
everything else were stock too. Now I'm putting 20s RT5 maya with kumho tires, removed carbon filters, just changed clutch, new software,
getting sprintbooster. I'm gonna have revenge race vs modded WRX (16psi) BOW, full exhaust and don't really wanna loose.
I raced this guy last year
and he was not at full psi power 11-12psi I guess, and I had stock rft tires didn't removed carbon filters didn't know how to launch SMG well. At dragtimes dot com There's few 545s which did from 13.6 to 14.1 1/4mile STOCK.
So from you guys especially SMG owners I wanna hear some advice how to launch SMG without launch assistance (don't wanna kill my car)
Should I put my 20's RT5s or should I keep original rft 18"s? Does anybody know if maya's are lighter than out stock wheels? The race is gonna be next week on closed road around 1KM-0.6mile. Thanks in advance!!!

Good luck. A WRX at full boost is gonna be tough.

I'd think you are going to need to get your traction down - so switching to Kumho's is not a bad idea.

18's or the lightest rims you can put to decrease rotational mass, take out interior do what ever it takes! A 16psi WRX with all wheel drive you'll need a Camaro/Trans AM with big cam and drag radials to beat one of those.

Have you seen the QTP WRX running high 12's with exhaust upgrades

I am the guy who has the 13.64 et on dragtimes.com.My 545 was a step so I can't be much help with the launch. My 545 was totally stock including the original tires .Try to launch with little or no wheelspin and shift at about 6300rpm.If you try to go to redline in each gear you may hit the rev limiter which will hurt your times.I don't know the weather conditions when you ran a 14.4 but if it was hot and humid it would seriously affect your times.I notice a good .5 second diff from hot and humid to cool and dry conditions.
I think you are in for a bad time with the WRX.He could very well be in the 12 second range.

That guy on WRX said that after all mods he done he's gonna run mid 13's, That's not an STI regular WRX 2.0 TURBO
Did you see guys how fast he was from the start but after 3rd gear I passed him!

If he runs mid 13's it should be a close race.He will probably jump out to a big lead at the launch, but you should start gaining on him at about 1/2 track.I haven't seen any smgs faster than my 13.6,but maybe you will be the first.
