I installed a new exhaust last night and saw this in the middle.
what is this for?
can any 1 help?

This rubber came from original BMW, All member should also have. If for stop vibration, why one have and one haven't

The exhaust was designed for a car, where there is a counter part for the rubber, a hook, so you can attach the exhaust to the car.
Because you don't have the counter part, the exhaust was not meant to be installed on your car, and it now vibrates more, since the long pipe is not attached to the car in the middle...

I don't know for sure if this is so, but it makes a lot of sense.
