I was thinking about getting the manual, but after driving a manual, decided the box had too long a throw for me, and being somewhat short, I didn't like how far the clutch needed to be depressed to fully engage.....so....for now.....I'm sticking with the auto.
Good point, I didn't have the opportunity to test drive a manual (only a 330i was available) when I ordered mine. I have to have the seat more forward then I prefer to fully engage the clutch.

Warm welcome kmslo530i!
You know before I placed order I also surfed-wo reg the forum, than I registered as pix could be seen in that way and it became like a family of 5000. So congrats on your beast and beauty, IMHO think about the leather I wanted also grey but heared no good except the first -half yr it is awesome but when it wears teh wrinkles are white and quite noticable, so I went w auburn. And may be you could go with black that wud be sporty. Ask your dealer for M wheels and kit and trunk finisher. Good luck and please post the pix and even if it will be hard to resist brake her in nicely it will pay on the long run!!! ps. the auto is just perfect if your sw is the newest!

If he ordered the 2007, I think comfort seats are part of the sport package.

Well, that's what I was having to do....move the seat so far forward the I felt like I was sitting on top of the steering wheel!! Aside from the two issues I listed above, I will say the manual drove like a dream, and the low end torque was amazing.......very smooth driving. But, for now, I'll stay with the step. I have step on my 530, and spend 90% of the time in DS which I find to work just fine!! Oh, and by the way, I wasn't able to test drive a 5 Series manual, but they did have a 645 with a manual tranny.
