my e60 was just pure luck that i landed one! thanks to my parents tho... i wanted a 545 since i was 16... probably would have been drivin' a Honda now if my dad didn't come across my 5 for the price he did

At the time I got my 2009 550, I was pondering: Caddy CTS-V, Infiniti M45 and Jag XF Supercharged.

My Ride: 2006 525XI, Jet black on Dakota beige. Premium and winter packages. I consider myself a purist and intend to keep my car absolutely stock and shiny.
2008 328I Convertible, Sapphire black on beige interior. Premium package, NAV, iPod adapter.
Retired: 2002 325I, Titanium silver on black leather. Premium package. Absolutely stock and proud of it.
I was actually looking for a 328xi, but I was having problems finding one in the model year I was looking for. On a spur, I test drove the E60 and it was love at first sight.

Have owned Mercedes since 1979 so seriously looked at E350 4Matic.
Also drove Audi A6(boring styling), Infiniti M45(poor resale), Lexus (no folding rear seats).
Love my low mileage 535i (love the look, OK resale and throughload).

New 135 or 335 coupe, put off by the many HPFP problems and pricing.
Used: E350 4Matic or CLS just not willing to deal with the less than stellar quality issues MB has been guilty of lately but I seriously thought I would end up with the CLS.
