The wrapped wires (yellow, red)going towards the fuses/battery then towards the front. The box sits inside the black foam under the spare tire!!!!!! It is a very odd location and want to know what this electical box is, with a part number and description. Unfortunately do not have any pictures. It got wet during cleaning the trunk and my Idrive is dead! :'( Need help!

I would just take it into the dealer service and tell them the iDrives dead. Make it look like its all dry around it - no dried water marks etc, and see what they say. Have you tried removing and reinserting all the connectors?

Have a look - put in your car, and then it will come up with different selections, eg. Nav, seats etc. Try a few - it shows where the components of each system are in the car.

Hope this helps - good luck!

If I remember correctly, it was something for the headphones???

I know I read it on one of the Tech. Documents.

I wouldn't have the balls to do it, but:
Gleaning from other issues....tell them that your trunk has been popping open by itself as described in this forum, and it recently opened during a rainstorm.
