Cold Weather Package
Hello
I am going to look at a 2006 525XI tomorrow and am hopefully trading in my 2005 Jetta GLI shortly there after!
This car is silver with the Premium Package and Dakota Black leather.
My question is, what does the premium package actually include?
My other question is would I be better off with a 525XI or a 530I since they are about the same price. I do live in Canada, Winnipeg, so we have long winters here. I've never had a problem with my Jetta being 2wd, the traction control and winter tires help quite a bit.
Thanks for the advice and I hope to be posting pictures of my new ride soon

My Ride: 2004 545i,1995 M3
Model Year: 2004
Not in FAQ that I could find. Here's a thread.
Only advantage to the 525 seems to be purchase price. 530 has more power, more standard features, and same gas mileage as the 525.

Get the 530. You'll regret the 525 eventually.

But trust me - the xi drivetrain will lower your overall fuel economy.
I've averaged 22.84 mpg overall with a fair amount of conservative highway driving during the past 25,000+ miles. BTW that's computed on miles driven / actual gasoline purchased - NOT based on the on-board computer readings.
With proper tires and careful driving the 530 RWD will be very usable. This is the first AWD BMW I've owned in 20+ years and I have traveled in moderately heavy winter conditions w/o major problems.
