Have you tried searching the DIY section here? There are a few members that created their own CAI for the V8 cars, and they should be equal to the Dinan or Gruppe M intakes - the only ones proven to actually add HP to our cars. The aFe stuff is crap, your car will lose HP.

Created their own? I have no way to get my hands on any hardware to make my own tho.

Save your money for the dreaded engine gasket overhaul. Because, if it hasn't been done, IT IS COMING!

Your 545i has this:

"It also carries a Double-VANOS valve system which has two intake and two exhaust valves which allows the engine to breathe deeply with every stroke. Double VANOS provides maximum performance at all time constantly adjusting timing and fuel-air mixture."

Those VANOS Buna o-rings can rob you of power on that N62B44 engine residing under the hood.

You've got 320+ HP, To get better performance, focus here:

"VANOS varies the timing of the valves by moving the position of the camshafts in relation to the drive gear.

This movement varies from 6 degrees of advanced to 6 degrees of retarded camshaft timing."

That's where the power is to be gained. I believe that OEM is -3 and to maximize performance, you want to be around +3

VANOS is where the performance can be gained as it controls the air and fuel mixture at the valves (and not the throttle plate) per cylinder.

Forget the air filter stuff and focus on the VANOS o-rings and timing.

Well that's a big curve ball lol I really appreciate it cuz I had no idea about the double vanos o-rings I just looked it up but idk if its the same thing. Can u send me a link and how would I be able to do the timing from -3 to +3 ?

regarding an intake system, best setup would be the RPI ram air scoop paired with an aftermarket filter, utilizing the stock airbox.
