As per my other thread, I am at 44,000 miles and it seems that spending $5000+ for extended maintenance and warranty is not worth it especially if the car is going to be worth crap at $100,000 miles. What say you?
Your 535 has a complex twin turbo engine, things are gonna get expensive down the road. Plus if you have an automatic that's another piece of equipment that can (and with time will) give you trouble. If you have the $ to take the depreciation hit, get rid of it soon.
I think you are in a unique situation. 44k miles on an 08....one could deduce you DRIVE A LOT! Which means leasing is probably not an option for you and trading it in is a bad financial move as well. If I were in your situation, I would probably opt for the extended warranty, but take off the maintenance. Seems like you may hit 100k in another 2-3 years, which would cover you mecahnically for that duration. Then just pay for oil changes out of pocket. Just my opinion!

I would pray some more, as you put miles on your car at an ASTOUNDING rate!
Find a good indy repair shop. BMW extended the high pressure fuel pump, HPFP, warranty to 10 years for N54 engines. The HPFP seems to be the N54 achilles heel. For 5K you can self insure against repairs fairly well.
