Can't stand items:
Cupholders- they are the most idiotic design I've ever seen in an automobile - I fixed them myself. The beige leather needs cleaning every few weeks. My next car will have a black interior!
'Needed improvement' were:
Clutch action - replaced CDV, installed clutch stop.
Runflats - replaced OEM wheels and tires.
Interior/exterior materials/look - installed wood ebrake, shifter, back and front console panels, black mats, removed stickers and labels, installed rear reflectors, debadged, 35% tint.
Now, the car is as close to perfect as I could ask for. I can honestly say I do not want to be driving anything else.

Hate is too strong a word.
Improvements, however:
1) Cup holders - I like they way look, I just wish they worked properly.
2) Storage space - need a little more of it; the center armrest with the phone tray is too cumbersome (especially when you go BT and don't need the phone tray at all).
3) Wheels - I have to say if I have any minor gripe about the e60 in general is the wheel selection for all the models this time around (525/530/545). I like the 124s and the 135s but the rest (my own included) are really, really, really OK and nothing more.
4) Software - all the little things I keep asking for...to many to repost but I want more options in just about everything...
But these gripes are so minor and the car is still the best I've ever owned...

Although many things can be improved or refined, I don't think I hate any single thing.
One thing to note for anyone complaining about the "lawyer screen" or the "accept screen," I just learned that in the 2005 Toyota Sienna Minivan (maybe other Toyotas as well,) you can't make changes to the nav system while driving. In other words, if you want to change your nav destination, you have to pull over and stop the car first.
Those of you who don't want to have the "accept" screen -- be careful what you wish for!...

drjochen:
BMW have recognised that there is a slight problem with cold starting the V8 engines due to a misadjustment of the valvetronic arms etc.. There is a service bulletin that tells the service people what to do IF the customer complains of cold start problems. Only applies to 545 owners...
Maybe you've 'complained' already???????
The bulleting apppeared on the TIS about a week and a half ago.
All the Best

My Ride: On order: 2007 550i, silver gray, black leather, anth. maple trim, active cruise, heated steering wheel, sport, night vision, vent seats, heat rears, active steering, rear air bags, folding seats, comfort access, navigation , HUD, black head liner, steptronic, premium sound, sirius and HD radio.
Cup holders. Question....on my 2004 530i they worked just fine. On my 2005 545i they tip drinks forward and do not allow the cup to seat. Several people have placed links to threads but none of them actually show how to fix the issue. Thoughts?

My Ride: 525i Sport. Mystic Blue. Logic 7, 6 CD Changer, Floormats. Just call me the last of the big spenders!!
Cup Holders - Never been used properly even once - I cannot accept the risk of the kind of spill those pieces of nonsense will induce - even at standstill!!
IDrive - I've heard all the comments. I think it's a step forward, but to me it IS distracting. Changing a CD at 110mph is a life decision.
Maybe hate is too harsh a word. They are irritations. Never knew bad cupholder design would be so grating. <_<
