Can anyone explain that?

 

It's simple, really. I have the exact same setup as big_ipaq does. On the cars with Professional Navigation (big screen, with maps) someone said that one slot is a DVD drive (for the maps) and the other is a CD drive for music. This is not true. Both are DVDs. On cars that have only one disc slot in the dash, that is a DVD if the cars has Business Navigation. Moreover, with BN, you can use the DVD drive for both navigation and MP3s, at the same time! First you insert the DVD with the maps, you plan your route. After the navigation starts to guide you, you can eject the map DVD and play some music. The navigation will continue to work, unless you go off course, in which case it will ask for the map DVD. Finally, it might be possible to have a car with no navigation whatsoever and that might only have one drive and that to be a CD only. But I do not know for sure.

 

So the Business Nav 1 Slot can show the directions (Map) as Nav along with the arrows and voice?. And that the only difference between Pro and Business Nav is 2 slots meaning you can do 2 things at the same time, for example - Sat Nav and Music.

Have I got my finger on it or have I gotten myself more lost then I was before haha

The Business NAV with one CD/DVD slot can only provide you with arrows and voice.

I have just been told by a local BMW dealer that the 6.5" Screen with B/Nav can not have the TV Function only the 8.8" screen with pro nav has it. This correct???

Hi

Can any one tell me if you have the Business Sat Nav system, will a professional DVD work in the business systems ?

Reason is I have a 2005-1 DVD Business version and want to upgrade my maps, I can see on EBay UK that people are offering Prof 2006-2 for around ?50 but will it work.

Will the Prof version just show the maps like on the business or not ?
