a late model Miata, dont know any specs, my buddy tried to jump me when we were both turning out onto a 65mph 4 lane highway, he got the jump on me but I stomped on it, and pulled on him then passed him pretty easily, it was just starting to pull strong at about 70 when he was in the rear view and I backed off. It was great fun! Seemed like a sporty model with nice alloys. I'll have to ask him what it's got under the hood.

My Ride: 2008 535i LCI with sports/premium package, Sports trans with paddle shifters, CF emblems, JB4 Software, Dinan Exhaust, Navigation, M5Tech body kit, Carbon wrap interrior trim and CIC Controller.
Miata? I'm sure its a four banger...

i'm sure it is a 4cyl, but it's also a very small, lightweight car
and hey, at least I put something out there, anyone else?
Update: Actually the MX-5 isn't as light as I imagined: Curb Weight 2447lbs. but still over 1000 pounds less than my e60 at ~3494lbs. Looks like that car has about 180HP so that puts the power to weight ratio pretty close for both cars...
Either way It was still fun to walk somebody down who tried to get the jump on me! I'm certainly not bragging about beating a Miata, just wanted to put a response out and see what others have done.

I beat a G35x. The guy was showing off because he had a few girls in his car so i was driving along and he starts to ride my bumper so i was about to make a left turn when the light turns green. He pulls up to me and was like "I thought you were going onto the freeway so we can have some fun." I LMAO for a min and then pulled behined him. So he has a car length on me and all wheel drive. e takes off from the light and i pull him in like a fish on a hook. By the time i get into 5th gear all i see is his headlights fading away. So we get to the light at the end of the freeway and he make some excuse to why he lost. I told him to never mess with the ultimate driving machine and did a peel out. The girls in his car laughed at him. I dont race and he got wha he deserved :-)

Haven't raced anything in the 5 (yet), but I know that with E85 it's faster than the 340+whp 5.7L V8 GTO it replaced - GTO had long-tube headers, UDP, CAI, and more. GTO was about the same weight, ~3700 lbs w/o driver. There was some overlap in owning, and I drove them back to back and while it's close, I'm confident the 5 with JB4, DCI, and E85 is quicker.
