Definitely one of the Porsche 911 variants or the Porsche Cayenne. Interesting that you did not list Porsche as one of your proposed alternatives. I would not get an Aston Martin (i.e., Ford) due to significant quality and reliability concerns (or, worse yet, any Daimler Chrysler car, including M.
If I wanted to drive a high quality boat, I'd get a Lexus GS 430 (but I prefer to drive a real performance car).

ummh this is not too though but it's funnie i'm running through my brain to figure it out, It would probably be the one of the new carrera's with the old light design or a porsche GT2. If we could choose super cars, I'd probably go with a Pagani Zonda! The vantage is a beautiful car though but I don't know they are ususally so heavy( not that I know the specs of the new vantage or anything) but it would be my third choice.

Next car? No BMW??? Hummmmmmmmmm
I like the M45... but I dont think I'll buy it. I just like it. Mercedes I also Like... but I dont think I'll buy a E class... doesnt fit me style... GS? nah... RL? nah... not much to chose from at the E60 price range...
If I can afford it.. I would love to get a turboS... but I cant... then next would be a RS6... then RS4....
sooooooooo if no BMW... I'll prob end up considering a RS4. else it would be a ///M5

Having just gotten my M45 to go along with my wife's E60 and my M Coupe, I have to say that adding a non-BMW vehicle to the mix turned out okay. While a 550i would be nice, and a 750i would be nicer, the M45 was a relative bargain. Great engine and technology that works right the first time without a software upgrade! But there is something inexplicable about the BMW that makes it hard to go elsewhere...
