What can cause this........
I just picked my car up today, 33 days after the 4th battery drain issue. I had to call BMW Assist to jump-start my batter. Battery acid was found under my battery. The acid ate through the battery pan and spilled to the pan under that. The dealer had to send the car to the body shop for both pans to be replaced! After all this I still don't know if the service department really knows what caused my 4 batter drains within the last 5 months.

Keith,
You need to be at the next Socal Meet! Wendell and I will be coordinating one either in November or December. You need to collect on Bing's beer debt.

And, I suspect if I don't collect on Bing's beer debt soon...Alzheimer's will settle in, and Bing will go, "what beer? Keith who?"
The low battery thing happened again yesterday. I wiped out the clock and rest the trip meter and the mpg........It sucks. I usually like to see all that data.
Here is what happened. I am also going to put this in tricks section since this is something I just discovered. While I was washing my car yesterday everytime I would hit the water on any of my door handles it would either lock or unlock the car based on the previous state. It kept on doing this while I was washing the car. At the end I had the the car on for about 2 mins but not running to do the 28 sec transmission reset since my car was not shifting back to 1st gear smoothly. After that if gave me the "excess battery" warning.
This time it showed me two new symbols where it usually shows the clock and the date. First one was the analog clock which probably meant I need to set it again and the other one was a car on the lift which probably meant I need to take it in for service...........
This is starting to annoy be a bit. I am going to take it in to get it checked. Hopefully the service guys would be smart to figure it out.
Just an update...................
