Hi all,
I have tried searching but am having no luck in getting a definitive answer.
I am getting a CEL related to the cam position sensor A, bank 2. Am I correct in assuming sensor A is the sensor for the intake cam, and bank 2 is the cylinders on the passenger side of the engine?
This is for a 545i, by the way.
Thanks much.

Bank 1 is for cylinders 1-4 (passenger side)
Bank 2 is for cylinders 5-8 (driver side)

The sensor is about $80 from Pelican, and it is readily accessible, being on top of the valve cover. It is towards the back of the engine, so you may have to remove the plastic cowling pieces on the firewall to get at it, but that is not difficult. I can't imagine an honest mechanic charging more than an hour to do the job.

designation of Bank1, Bank2, exhaust, intake... same for N52 or N62.
The only difference would be the location - where those sensors are mounted on the engine.
