Hello im new to this forum and i really want a 5 series but cos i dont know much about bmw's or the e60 having owned neither i want some advice. I want a lot of mpg's cos after owning a landcruiser that did 20 odd mpg i really want something a wee bit more frugle! So im thinking the 520d? Not new cos im not that rich :-( lol. Im thinking a 2006 btw how long are warranty's? The problem is should i get an M sport or not? Also from what i've seen the SE's dont even have leather? I want leather seats, do they all come standard with a satnav? What do you guys recommend... I've seen a 520d 06 with 26k on the clock for just under 16k is that a gd deal? lol you can see i have no idea.... Any other places to look besides autotrader and pistonheads?

Slow down there, buddy! Take one thing at a time. Try the search feature for many of your questions, and welcome to the world of E60's.
No "whoops" necessary...plenty of folks from all over the world reside on this site, even the ones who drive on the wrong side of the road.![Tongue](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/tongue.gif)
Do what I do and try one of each every 6 months or so.

Hi Jalal
Welcome to forum.
If you do lots of miles and economy go for 520d , for more power nothing comes close to 530d, Se or Msport, that is your choice but M's hold values better on long term. With BMW everything is extra so look for the right car.
PS: Nothing sounds better than V8 ???

Yeah i do a fair bit of miles not like some people but more then average and the price of fuel is ever so high so i think economy is my priority. I just saw a 520d M sport in carbon black with 30k on the clock for 17k and it has leather too i just dont like the ugly silver trim. But im going to go look at it....

The "d"s, I think, are a good way to go, even though we don't get them here in the states. Obviously they mean diesel and I'm not sure what the prices are over there.
And I think the M-Sport looks really nice; I wish we didn't have to buy an M-Aero kit on a non-M or 550 here to get the cool skirts.
