Wouldn't describe the car as slow by any means! But the throttle response seems to have changed since I took delivery. It can be really annoying in stop and go city traffic. Not like the infamous transmission slam but if you slow to a near stop in traffic or roll thru a stop sign (sorry traffic police!) and then hit the gas, the response has weakened. It is something that has become more noticable lately, not from delivery. I have already posted my complaints about the response in D, really poor in my view. I drive in DS at all time now to improve throttle response. My 545 was never like this. Maybe I'll try the Sprint Booster...

I mean if you really feel like something is wrong I'd take it to the dealer. I would recommend you fix the problem before throwing in something else into the mix that is just masking the issue.

But hey there could be nothing wrong with your car and you're just use to it. I'm a dealer whore though, I want to utilize them fully for our sexy 5 series.

Good point. Will definitely see the dealer to eliminate potential other issues before trying Sprint Booster or anything else...

Good choice. When dealer says everything is fine, then come back and mod the hell out of it.

IMHO, it takes about 10K mi or so before a BMW engine really starts to break in. You've had your car less than a month. Give it time. I'm approaching 2.5K mi and am noticing small improvements in off the line performance. Time is your friend. I also plan on doing an oil change at 5K. The first oil and filter change improved mileage and performance on my previous Bimmers.

Anyone think that Ethanol gas might play a part?

On a more serious note, lately I've been noticing what seems to be something of a "surging" of power on my car. I can't tell if it's just my imagination or if there's something else going on. I'm due for a visit to the dealer before the end of the month so we'll see if it's something or not. Under heavy acceleration, in manual sport mode (as usual), the car doesn't always pull in a linear way as it once did.

It feels as if I either have a clogged injector (or bad fuel), or something in the transmission or drivetrain is consuming power from the engine. What's strange is that it doesn't seem to happen all the time (which leads me to believe it may be related to something electronic, software, or some other component that might behave differently under different conditions like temperature, etc.)

This describes what I am experiencing also! Sometimes midway thru a turn the power drops and then slams back on. Someone else here described it as a dead zone. Put me down for the same experience. I was planning to reset the tranny but wondering if anyone else tried this with any success?
