OK..this is interesting...my xi is sitting at 32 1/2" w/18" 124s, little less than 1/2 tank of gas...
Interesting. I just measured mine to bottom of door handle and I am also 32.5" w 17" 138s, and about 3/8 tank. Must be the stock height as nothing has been done to mine at this point.

I was at my dealer today and did your test on an M5 vs a 550MSport............... did'nt have a tape measure so I just pegged it with the old finger on hip ruler . I would say the M5 is at least half an inch + higher than the 550 MSport.......... who says lowers better

That's what I was thinking was the case because the M5 tires are appox 1.2" taller than our 535's or 550's. So that means that M5's are setting about 1/2" higher than our cars but because of the taller tires they look good I think. I feel that the 18" 124's on my 535 just look too small for the car and M5's look proportionally better and they are the same body. Like I have said on this forum before I saw a 545i with 245/40/19 frt and 275/35/19 rr and it looked really balanced. The other bonus is that those tire sizes are 1" taller than stock so the wheel wells are filled up by .5" all the way around and the car (with sport pkg susp) probably sits the same overall height as an M5.

I'd love to hear from those who have installed eibach or H & R springs. So far it looks like factory sport suspension drops from standard about .75", 2008 550i' sport is about the same as 535i sport and M5's actually sit higher than either. Come on guys let's get your numbers, bottom of drivers door handle doesn't change whether you have body kit, M5,xi, 19's, 20's etc.

Seems like the earlier sport suspension cars may sit lower than the newer ones. Question is whether that is spring sag or that they just changed the springs, I guess you could research part numbers. I guess replacement springs like H & R's would be equal though. It will beinteresting to see what your car measures with those springs.
