Installed winter tyres this morning and at the shop the man suggested me, because of M5 brakes-spare tyre problem (unfortunately my 20 mm spacers are not enough), to fit in the spare part compartment a normal front M5 wheel instead of the little sucking 17".
He showed me there is more space under the carpet. And under a pair of we found those things.

Something to measure the inclination of the car?

Maybe we can remove the second carpet under it and gain space for an M5 front wheel there, attaching it with tape on the bottom.

I had exactly the same question - I would love to know, what a pretty important looking module is doing, just sat there.
tis a mystery to me.

Could be wrong but I heard that the iDrive module is in the boot somewhere. That might be it?
