My Ride: 2004 530i stock. 2000 Jeep Wrangler non-stock =)

a 335i turbo the other day. It's on order and probably won't have it for a couple months at least, so I still have some time in my 530. If anyone you know is looking for a clean 2004 530i with 25k on the odometer, let me know.

It's been a great ride in the 530, but my only regret was not getting the 545 and/or the sport package...oh, and not getting to this board sooner (i've already been sifting through the e90post.com forums).

This board has been great, one of my favorites, and i want to thank everyone for all the info, experiences, and maturity on this forum. One of the best in my opinion. I'll still hop on here and see what's new as i love all BMWs. Cheers!

My Ride: 2004 545i / Orient Blue (I think) / Tan int / 116's Wheels / ... my favorite option, the HEATED steering wheel! Previous cars retired: 2006 Corvette Z51, 2002 Corvette Coupe, 2002 Mustang, 1997 Maxima, 1994 Camry, 1990 Supra None, and I mean none compare to this 545i. The 06 Corvette was faster, but not by much...

Good luck, I think you'll like the speed of the 335!

Yep, very impressed with the speed even though I didn't "floor" it and had two passengers in it. When reviews say it doesn't feel like it's a turbo, no lag, they are correct. Not that i'm expert, but i certainly couldn't feel it! I was more impressed with the 50-80 highway speed! I punch it, suddenly i'm doing over 80mph!!!

I really can't understand why anyone would buy the 528. For $6k more you not only get the turbo, you get the logic7, adaptive xenon headlights, power seats (i can't believe those aren't standard on every BMW), and 17inch wheels (i got the sport package, 18s). I can hardly wait!!!

To each their own I guess, we all have different needs/wants. I asked my dealer the same question but the other way around when buying my '05 525. The 5er has a tad more room, IMHO looks better, and for those concerned with status - it's not the base model of the brand. Example - You can get a fully loaded Honda Civic nowadays for roughly $30k. I ask the question why you wouldn't get an Accord or spend $2-3k more and get an Acura TL. Everyone has different needs and I can understand both points of view. I drive a Honda s2000 in the summers but most of the year I'm taking clients out where I have 2-4 passengers at any given point and there's no way I'd subject them to the 3-series due to size constraints.

Also, I initially wasn't so concerned with the car's power when shopping for a new vehicle but surprisingly enough I'm very happy with the power in my 525 although I've never driven a 550 (and I hope I never drive a 550 because I'd likely stretch myself too thin and ditch my 525).

Congrats with the purchase I'm sure you'll love it. Post up some pics when you get a chance :thumbsup

Except when one does not like turbo. Why don't BMW bring European 2008 530 with 270hp instead of turbo?
