According to the BMW website, the 335i weighs 3605 lbs, and the 535i weighs 3660 lbs. A difference of 55 lbs...? That doesn't seem right. What's the deal?

i think that's because e60 lost weight compare to last generation e39
while new 3 series gained lil weight. That's what I heard.
I could be wrong though.

The E60 went hard on aluminum and composites compared to the E39. I might be wrong, but I think the E60 actually went down on weight compared to the E39 despite being larger. If it went up, it was only a little. The E90 is significantly larger (and more equipped) than the previous 3. That little E90 is quite massive for its size.

That weight is probably including the floor mats, take them out and its a good difference.
