My Ride: 2004 BMW 530i
Default

Well since saturday the 530's been in the shop getting some new suspension, brakes and tires. I was expecting to get it back monday, then yesterday. When I went to the shop the car was sitting on the lift without any front wheels. So today was the day to get it back. I wait, call around 4 and learn it is now at goodyear getting aligned. According to the guy at goodyear, he's going to "try" to get it done today, but he's not making any promises. So yet again I must live another day without my car. The worst part is my replacement car has been a 07' camry.

Just venting...

I feel for you ...My 550 has been in the shop for a week for night vision camera repair. I'm getting tired of driving a stripped down 328i.

My 550 has been in the shop yesterday and today for a starter replacement. I am getting it back tomorrow. But I love my loaner -- a loaded 335 xi. What a rocket!

suspension, brakes, tires, shouldn't take that long. if anything, maybe 1 day. Of course you should have some patience, but for a small job like that, I don't think it should take that long.

Time to grow up, boys. If you have read these posts for any length, you know that these puppies take a lot of care and feeding. FYI, my dealer gives a comparable replacement car when you get a loaner so, you own a 5, you get a 5. Good customer service.

My ride is 6 months old. A bad starter at that age is ridiculous. The first of 2 loaners my dealer provided me was a 528. That is not nearly comparable to a 550. Not even close.

This time, I got a 335xi loaner which is much much more fun to drive than a 528. The big annoyance was getting stranded once and nearly stranded another time. Yes I know that BMW is no Lexus or Infiniti in terms of general reliability but stranding should not happen in a new car. We are not driving Aston Martin or Range Rover.

A little separation will make it even sweeter when you reunite with the car later. Be patient, buddy. You get it back in no time.
