Why does the car send a warning that looks like a snowflake when the weather is cold? Is it to warn you to alter your driving or is it a drastic change in temp that could affect road conditions?

rookie mistake....

do a search for "black ice" on this forum. You will get your answers

And do drive carefully when that gong sounds!

That warning occurs when the temperature reaches 37? F or colder.

It lets you know:

37 degrees F is when black ice can occur
32 degrees F is when water freezes

So yes, both of these temperature points affect road conditions and you should alter your driving style accordingly.

Sure will! With rear wheel drive, and the DSC switched off, the fun finally begins!
