I have noticed a small amount of water on my front door sills after driving in the rain. I purchased the car used so I don't know if it is normal on e60's or whether my rubber seals/guards need to be replaced. I've inspected them and don't see any problems. The water will remain there for days.

check the carpets where front passenger's feet would be thoroughly and make sure that they are dry. If moisture gets in under there, you may be in for a nasty expensive repair - there are modules there.

I'd call it the start of a problem ... investigate your door seals to be sure they are OK. even after the heavy rains we've had for the past month I have NO moisture on sills, or at any point beyond the door seals and gaskets.

An easy way to determine if they are sealing up tight is to use a paper dollar bill and close the door on it. Do that in several spots around the door frame. IF you can easily pull the bill out of the door it may mean that the seal is probably not snugging up tight enough to prevent water from seeping in.

It may require readjustment of the door or replacement of the gasket material.
