Today, I dropped my ring into the steer wheel gearbox...took me half hour to take it out with help of five tools...Lucky me, it didn't jam my steer wheel and cause accident....

I'm assuming a wedding ring? If it were something cheap or less sentimental I don't think the OP would have gone through all the trouble.

some people use the little pouch at the top of the column to hold stuff. Probably what happened. You guys are assuming that it's a wedding ring and so you are assuming he's married. A lot of people that aren't married wear rings and a lot or married people don't wear rings. I work too much with my hands to have anything get in my way so no rings on these fingers.
A relationship shouldn't be based on the wearing of a ring. In these times/days wearing a ring can get one into more trouble than without. There's a lot coveting thy neighbors husband for some odd reason

Guys....nothing fishy happened really....I just like to play with anything that is in my hand, and I was playing with my "engagement ring" my gf gave me, while driving, and it slipped and fell into the steering wheel gearbox. You know there is a leather cover above the gearbox. I just can't figure how the ring got into there. Then I was very frightened, cuz I am afraid it may jam my steering wheel. But it didn't.

You know what, I think, those stupid technical accidents in disaster films, they do happen....

There is no "steering gearbox" inside the cabin of the car, so no worries. No way that ring was going to jamb the steering of the car. Might be possible that it jamb the wheel tilt mechanism, but would not affect the steering.
