Hi Folks,
This might interest some of you. Whilst checking the service history on my latest e60. I found a 19 page document with all the warranty work that has been done to the car. Yes, 19 pages of warranty work!!!
When i phoned the stealer they were very surprised i had a copy of this as it is strictly for the stealer and bmw as they are paying for the work. All they would do was tell me to give them some dates and they would confirm that the car had been in on these dates. And it was for this car.
The list is shocking, i will give you a few examples but there has been over 30 warranty jobs done on this car from bmw cotswold in the uk.
cylinder head gasket labour nearly 3 days plus parts.
full power steering gear nearly 1 days labour plus parts
both front headlights changed due to water penetration these were changed again!!!!
mechatronics module in gearbox 2 days labour plus parts
Countless trim panels fog lights steering racks. My mechanic reckons it could be in the region of £20,000 worth of work.
Whats going on with the stealers guys. Are they ripping bmw off. I have ran these cars for 200,000 and not much goes wrong so when they are within there warranty are some of the dealers giving themselves work. They have to keep the faulty part and bmw can ask to see the faulty part. I dont think an e60 can be that bad. Off course the car drives like new lol.
Any ideas whats going on?
Cheers
