Wow so this problem is common,

for sure i had this on many occassions, especially if the brakes have been hammered on a short stretch of time, they tend to fade, and feel very heavy on the driving, and you can clearly hear them, and braking is reduced,

however they do this because of the severe heat generated by slowing down sharply and speeding up again and again slowing sharply. the heat is quite immense.

I changed my discs (rotors) to and aftermarket performance company "black diamond" with fast road pads, and the braking is much more increased, and the biggest up is - is that the brakes dont fade like they did before,

I was quite surprised that my stocks were that crap, after only 6k miles, too shocking. It was just a risk though.

I would reccommend that you chnge to bigger brakes if poss or cross drilled discs.

Could the brake disks have warped or could that be temporary because of the extreme heat generated at those stops?
Yes, they could have.

The dics don't like to be punished cold, very hot nor wet.

But the dics do not cost that much - normal changing parts as the pads, oil and filters.

Usually brake pads should be changed at some 50 - 70 k kilometers and the front discs at 100 k km.

PS. E60's (except the M5) are nice family cars, not racing ones. There are pads and dics for that use also.
When car reporters did test drive the new E92 M3 at the Nurnburgring, everyone was only allowed
one lap before they had to come in to the pits before starting a new one... cooling themselves and the brakes.
