this warning may come on if the fuel filler cap is not seated properly, so remove the cap and replace it making sure you get a good seal and you hear the second click. If this does not fix the light, inspect the rubber seal on the cap (maybe it is damaged?) and replace if damaged
This is not the only thing that may set off the SES light, but it is most likely something in the emissions control system, including the fuel vapor containment, which means the filler cap.
One last thing. You should not continue to add fuel after the pump has a normal shutoff. We sometimes call this "topping off". This can introduce fuel into the filler neck, and cause it to enter the fuel vapor containment apparatus, also triggering the warning.
