Hey guys,
Just wanna let you know how accurate your BMW Computer is.
When the estimation gas mileage was 7 miles it still seems to work just fine.
But, when it touches 3 miles and counting down, you might wanna be careful.
Mine just change from 3 to absolute ----- in .7 miles. Well I guess it was an uphill road.
My heart was gonna fall off (trying to find the nearest gas station).
But, it's a good experience though.
I even drive in D at the first place and shift it back to N (letting it go with the gravity ) to conserve the remaining gas (The picture shows it.)
Thanks.
Yoko.

I've driven on "zero" quite a few times. And the most my tank took at that point was still 17.8 gallons. If you get to zero, you still have a gallon or more left.

I've been down to zero and driven a further 16 miles to find a garage, similar with my old 330i, I would agree with DrLEV99 there is about a gallon left on zero...however I don't recommend making a habit of only filling up when it indicate 0 miles!

In regards to "why let it get so low" ... my question back is "why not?". If you fill up everytime it gets to 40 miles, and assuming you get 500 miles out of a tank, that means you fill up your car approximatey 11 times for every 10 times I fill mine. Assuming driving to the garage, filling, paying, getting back on your route takes 15 minutes, and assuming you fill up three times a month, that means you spend 45 minutes at the garage more than me a month. That's 540 minutes, or 9 hours a year. I am 33 years old. I assume I will live and drive until I am at least 80. If I were to fill up at 40 instead of 0 miles, I would have wasted 423 hours, or 17.6 days of my life, at garages putting fuel in my car.

THAT'S why I let it get so low

First, I was gonna replace my gas from chevron to shell,
Second, I also would like to know how accurate our BMW is.
So, in my POV. I was thinking straight.
and my question is Why Not??
It's not gonna break the car anyway.
